Bio Career Center

 

 

Santa Cruz, Calif. – Expanding on its goal to provide online job postings  and career resources to post-graduate and alumni candidates, Bio Career Center (www.BioCareerCenter.com) and three major universities have joined forces.

 

On Jan. 28, Emory University, University of Colorado Denver and Vanderbilt University joined the Bio Career Center family, rounding out an already elite consortium of higher education institutions. Current schools include University of California Berkeley, Caltech, Scripps Institute, Stanford, University of California at San Francisco, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Washington. 

                                                                

”Our newest members are leading institutions in their field and leaders in career development for life sciences postgraduates,” said Nick Folger, president of Bio Career Center. “We are excited they have joined our organization and look forward their communities having access to our employer listings and content.”

 

Emory University is located outside of Atlanta, Ga., neighboring the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Cancer Society. The school offers numerous life science focuses including Genetics and Molecular Biology and Molecular and Systems Pharmacology. Its M.D./Ph.D. program provides the research training necessary to work at the forefront of a scientific field while concurrently developing outstanding clinical skills.

 

The University of Colorado Denver offers a variety of degrees and certifications for talented professionals in medicine, pharmacy and more. In conjunction with the School of Medicine, the graduate school offers a joint M.D./Ph.D. in the medical scientist training program, which develops investigators with a broadly-based knowledge of both basic and clinical biomedical sciences.
 

An independent, privately supported university founded in 1873, Vanderbilt, in conjunction with the university’s medical center, is a premier research facility that is internationally recognized for its leadership and innovation in the biomedical and biological sciences. With about 500 laboratories conducting cutting-edge research, VUMC attracts the best and brightest researchers from around the world. The university is consistently ranked as one of the nation's top 20 universities by publications such as U.S. News & World Report.

 

"Bio Career Center’s goal is to reach out to new and mid-career professionals who are looking for direction from someone they can trust. Likewise, prospective employers are doing the same,” said Folger. “Not only will our newest members benefit, but site participants will be able to garner insight from the most knowledgeable experts in a large variety of career paths.”

Bio Career Center features a jobs board that gathers the life sciences postgraduate and clinical communities of each member school into one place, a staff that liaises with employers and deep and rich content that focuses on all of the alternatives that life sciences Ph.D.'s and M.D.'s have before them. Bio Career Center can be accessed via member (university) Web sites or at www.BioCareerCenter.com. The service is free to students and alumni of member institutions.
